Sergio CastellittoOne of Italy's most versatile acting talents of today, Sergio Castellitto (La stella che non c'è / The Missing Star), will reteam with German actress Martina Gedeck for the gambling story Tris di donne & abiti nuziali. German actress Gedeck, who could recently be seen in the Oscar-winning Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others), already played opposite Castellitto in the cooking comedy Bella Martha (Mostly Martha) from 2001, which was remade in the US last year as No Reservations. Director Vincenzo Terracciano (Ribelli per caso, another film about food and dining) has already started filming on the production that will be shot over eight weeks in Naples and Rome.

After playing the title character in Marco Bellocchio's Il regista di matrimoni (The Wedding Director), Castellitto will play a Neapolitan who needs money for his daughter's wedding in Tris di donne & abiti nuziali. Francesco, a retired postal worker and the father of two grown children,  sees his favourite pastime, gambling, as the ideal way to get him the money he needs to pay for his daughter's imminent wedding.

Terracciano co-wrote the film with regular collaborator Laura Sabatino and, besides Gedeck and Castellitto, has also cast Paolo Briguglia (Buongiorno, notte / Goodmorning, Night) and newcomer Raffaella Rea.
