For the 2007 Foreign Language Oscar, each country is asked to submit one film that played for at least one week in a commercial theatre between October 1, 2005 and September 30, 2006 in its home country. New this year is the fact that the film does not have to be in the official language (or one of the languages) of the home country, a rule that last year disqualified several excellent films, including Caché (Hidden), the Austrian submission that was in French and Private, the original Italian choice that was in Arabic and Hewbrew. The list below is complete, as the submissions date has now passed. Nominations will be announced on January 23, 2007, and the winners will be announced on February 25. A list of last year's submissions can be found here.
