Hungarian Film Week 2007 winnersThe annual Hungarian Film Week concluded in Budapest yesterday evening with the traditional awards ceremony. For the first time, not one but two films were crowned Best Feature; Konyec, a Bonnie and Clyde-style road trip with two pensioners as the protagonists won the Best Mainstream Feature title, with the evocative Iszka utazása (Iska’s Journey), about a young girl facing a bleak future, being named the Best Auteur Film. The delirious Opium - Diary Of A Madwoman won several awards, including Best Director for János Szász, Best Cinematography and the Foreign Critics' Prize. Árpád Bogdán's Boldog új élet (Happy New Life) won the Best First Film and Best Music prizes and will join Iszka utazása in Berlin, where it has been selected for the upcoming Berlinale.
