An overview of interesting European film-related things published elsewhere on the web. - The 2007 Czech Lion awards, the national film prizes of the Czech Republic were awards this weekend, with veteran director Jirí Menzel walking away with the Best Picture and Best Director prizes for his recent Berlinale Competition entry and local box office hit Obsluhoval jsem anglického krále (I Served the King of England). - The 2007 Polish Orly or Eagle Awards crowned Plac Zbawiciela (Saviour Square) from the duo Joanna Kos-Krzysztof Krauze as the Best Picture of the Year, but Jan Jakub Kolski’s Jasminum walked away with most awards in total: six (link: Cineuropa has the list of winners, in English)
