Cineuropa reports that German actor and this year's German Shooting Star Maximilian Brückner is currently in front of the cameras as the Bavarian "Robin Hood" Räuber Kneißl in the film of the same name directed by Marcus H. Rosenmüller. The young Bavarian director is quickly becoming one of the most in-demand names in the business, working on his third follow-up feature after the unexpected success of his grave comedy Wer früher stirbt, ist länger tot (Grave Decisions) from 2006. Räuber Kneißl tells the story of the robber of the title, a legendary figure who lived in the latter part of the 19th century in Bavaria. Brückner first came to the attention of cinephiles as the gay football player in Männer wie wir (Guys and Balls), and also starred in the Oscar-nominated Nazi drama Sophie Scholl - die letzten Tage (Sophie Scholl - The Final Days). For the actor it is the third collaboration with Rosenmüller after he co-starred in Wer früher stirbt, ist länger tot and the Olympic bobsleigh comedy Schwere Jungs (Heavyweights). Räuber Kneißl also stars Maria Furtwängler and Michael Fitz. |
