Cineuropa has an interview with Swedish director Roy Andersson about his latest film, the tragicomedy Du levande (You, the Living). The film will be released in France and Belgium next Wednesday.- The Telegraph interviews UK screenwriter Abi Morgan, who co-adapted Monica Ali's bestselling novel Brick Lane for director Sarah Gavron. The film comes out in the UK on Friday.
- British films including Atonement are doing well at the box office reports the Guardian. Geoffrey Macnab does not completely agree on his Guardian film blog.
- Russian actor-turned-director Fyodor Bondarchuk is currently working on Obitaemyy ostrov (Inhabited Island), the follow-up to his directorial debut 9 rota (The 9th Legion), a box office and critical hit. Twitch has more information on the science fiction project, including stills and footage.
- Makingofeuropa.net has two new behind-the-scenes and interview packages up: for the Hungarian film Prima Primavera from director Janos Edelenyi and with Vesela Kazakova and Andor Lukats, and for Emily Atef's German film Mutterliebe (Mother Love), with Susanne Wolff and Johann von Bülow. The former is a road movie with spiritual overtones, while the latter focusses on postnatal depression.
